Fans of the popular 1950s television series "World of Playdough" have greeted the news that a new series of the show is to appear in RTE's autumn with joy. "Jasus it's wonderful", Sally O'Fanny told TS, "I can't believe it."
The series was originally made famous in parishes all over Ireland by Bunny Carr, who remained popular with viewers even after the 'doughboy' incident and the scandal over his penchant for 'rolling pins'. He is to be replaced by Gerry Ryan, who plans to bring his own brand of manic hilarity to the screen, following on such television success as the hugely successful show 'Secrets'
"We were so pleased Gerry came on board", one RTE executive said, "I mean, the man is a star. Gerry Ryan and a lot of dough, how can you go wrong."
It is believed that full use of widescreen and digital television advances will be made to accommodate his massive personality.
